ESR Open House I. — How to Apply (Technical Session) was an online session part of the European Solidarity Residency (ESR)

Summary

The ESR Open House I: How to Apply (Technical Session) took place on Friday, 29 August 2025, at 1 pm. Miloslav Vorlíček, Head of Residencies at Lidice Memorial, led it.

The session covered the details of the residency program, including application deadlines and logistics, with a reminder of the tight deadline for the current open Call. It provided prospective applicants with a clear, step-by-step walkthrough of the application process for the fully funded 30-day residencies in Budapest, Dubrovnik, and Lidice.

🎤 Miloslav introduced the ESR programme. He noted that the Call is now open for 10 residency places in 2025. The first ESR Open Call 2025 closes on Friday, 12 September, at 1 pm CEST. There will be a second call in 2026, with a significantly larger gap between the Call and the residency itself. Miloslav noted that ESR is open to early-career and emerging curators and CPs, especially from underprivileged backgrounds who are citizens and residents of the EU and 13 non-EU countries, as well as to those affected by war. He further outlined the eligibility and application process. Miloslav reminded everyone that selected residents will have access to on-site resources and that all applicants will have access to online content via their free ESR Membership. Overall, ESR aims to advance social inclusion, gender balance, diversity, and sustainability in the European cultural sector by addressing gaps in access to resources and mentoring.
